Step 4.

Adding a background to your web page!

The woodgrain pattern you see on these pages are backgrounds. the name of this particular background, is wood006.jpg. We will put this background on our index page we just built in place of the white bgcolor. To use a background, first you must save the background and put it in the folder with the rest of the items for your web site. The way you do this is... right click on the background somewhere there is no text or other items. A grey box will pop-up, click on "save background as". Now save as wood006.jpg... it should put the name of the background in the file name box for you... then save it in your folder. Next, we'll take out the bgcolor and add in the background. See the white box below.

<html>
<head>
<title>index.html</title>
</head>
<body background="wood006.jpg">
<center><H1>Welcome To My Home Page!</H1></center><br>
<center><H2>This is my first web page!</H2></center><br>
<center><H3>This is really easy!</H3></center><br>
<center><a href="page2.html">Go to page 2.</a><br>
</body>
</html>

Remember that in order for your pages to display on your site, you must ftp them over to the site as well as any backgrounds, animations, MIDIs, etc that the page is displaying. You can do this with the page builder wizard on site or with an ftp program. If you need more help with this part, E-Mail me.
